The History
In 1948, Vanport was the second largest city in Oregon, and the largest housing development in the country when it was totally destroyed by a flood on May 30th, 1948.
The Evolution
The population which emerged from that flood-ravaged City grew to become the foundation of diversity for the State of Oregon, and this line of Spirits embodies those who rose to become the heart of the City of Roses.

All spirits within this line will be distilled in the City of Portland, produced with the goal of creating a high-quality beverage whose delivery is smooth, and consistent.
The Evolution of The Spirit of Rising.
In this short history, from 1942 to 1948, Vanport was the Nation’s largest wartime housing development, a site for social innovation, a lighting rod for racial integration which evolved into the City of Portland, Oregon — and this is the heart of our brand.

The Environment
We put the environment first, purchasing 300,000 lbs of carbon offsets in projects ranging from the Oregon Forest to Guatemala.
